This last Sunday service at our West Campus was awesome. I feel like we are finally in a good groove of ministry. Of course, we have MUCH room for improvement and many more ideas to implement.
Our whole church fits in a truck! You guys and gals who are serving are doing a FANTASTIC job. God [...]

Reflections leading up to Easter…
Judas caused the cross; so did I.
Barabbas escaped the cross; so did I.
Simon of Cyrene carried the cross; so must I.

This weekend at CCK we had a special guest speaker, Bob Shank. He spoke on the subject of stewardship and money, using 1 Timothy 6 as his text. Here’s a couple quotes and insights from his sermon, loosely paraphrased.
- “Every dollar I put in my 401(k) last year leaked out. Every dollar I invested in [...]

As we approach Easter, I’ve been spending my devotional time reflecting on the events preceding the Resurrection, using “Through the Bible, Through the Year” by John Stott.
As Jesus accusers led Him to Pilate for trial, John 18:28 tells us that “they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that [...]

Some time ago, I received an email from some missionary musicians. I get lots of email from missionaries, which means I am not able to read every word of every note. Instead, I’m forced to skim through to catch the gist of it, and then forward it to our missions minister, pray for the sender, [...]

Here are two steps to avoid temptation from Mark 14:38.
1. Watch. Always keep your guard up. Take heed. Be careful. This involves a resolve and a determination. This is an important ingredient but it’s not enough. We must also…
2. Pray. We need the protection of our Best Friend. We need His wisdom, His passion, His [...]

John Stott writes in his devotional Through the Bible, Through the Year, “Some form of suffering is virtually indispensable to holiness.” He commenting on the pruning that God accomplishes in our life. It’s part of the growth process. It makes us better, and more sensitive.
Don’t resist this vital work of the Father’s hand. He [...]

Here comes Easter.
We completed service number two at CCK West. A great time. Servants serving. People worshipping. Cafe hopping. Pedro preaching.
Easter is April 12. We’re getting ready. It’s the biggest day in the Christian calendar. It doesn’t get more important than the Resurrection!
Personally, I’ll be spending the next five weeks reading and meditating on the [...]

I’m a pastor. Never really thought it would happen. Wasn’t an ambition. Not even on the radar.
One day, I think I was a senior at U. of Miami, a friend and mentor (although I didn’t know they were a mentor until later), asked me if I ever thought about being a pastor. I said, “No.” [...]

We had a great first service at CCk West! Over 500 people and several came forward to give their lives to Jesus!
One high point was having Pastor Ferguson, whom the schools was named after, close the service with an exhortation and prayer. Here is a man, 85 years old, who is finishing well. What a [...]
